How do spanish names work? Explain using my examples please?
Traditionally, a child has both the father's and mother's name, the father's name coming first, followed by the mother's. The official surname is that of the father, even though the mother's comes last. Domingo Andres' paternal name would be Babilonia (it can be reversed in more modern usage). You would retain your own name upon marrying, although modern Western custom might suggest that you become Melanie Nicole Rodriquez de Babilonia (or de Garcia, depending which is his father's name). Your child would carry both of your surnames. He would be Jose Pablo Babilonia Rodriguez. a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_surnames" rel="nofollow"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_sur…/a
