How do spanish names work? Explain using my examples please/?

Babilonia is the last name of your husbands's father and Garcia is the maiden name of his mother. After marriage you would officially become Melanie Nicole Rodriguez de Babilonia, but many married women just keep their previous name nowadays and don't use their husband's last name at all. His name would not change. Your child could be, for example, Andrs Nicolas Babilonia Rodriguez. In some countries, like the United States, Babilonia-Rodriguez is hyphenated; in others it isn't.
