Pronunciation of Delanie?

So my husband and I have a bit of a dilemma. We thought we had settled on the perfect girl name for our third little one, Delaney, until we realized we were pronouncing it wrong. We thought it was Dell-uh-knee, not Deh-lane-ee, and had planned to call her Della for short. We still love our pronunciation, and thought we would just change the spelling to Delanie or Dellanie, but everyone seems to just ume this is a unique spelling of Delaney. I've only found one example of someone who said their name was Delanie, "pronounced like Melanie". I don't really want her to have a "made-up" name, but I'm just sort-of stuck on it! I love it! Any thoughts?

What do you think about switching between characters?

Great idea. For instance, the now wildly popular Game of Thrones does exactly that, with the chapters after the characters whose perspective from which they're written. The advantages is being able to convey complex or varied viewpoints and opinions and experiences within the novel, and perhaps the most glaring danger in doing so would be that the reader feels thrown from person to person, as if they're reading the introductions to three different novels, without reaching any real progression.

I saw a hawk, eagle or falcon...?

And I don't know what species it is! I'd really like to know more about it, because I've never seen that sort of bird of prey around this area before. I live in the Tri-Cities, specifically Richland, in Washington state. We're actually pretty arid around here, especially in comparison to the rest of the state, but there's a small creek outside my workplace. I saw this bird swoop down to where I couldn't see it, and come back with a fish hooked in its talons. I would say it was of middling size- it didn't strike me as a huge bird, but it definitely wasn't small- and the only distinguishing feature I can remember is that it had a light head with darker stripes that might have been near its eyes. It all happened in a flash, so I'm sorry I couldn't give more detail, but does anyone know of a bird of prey in this area that might fit that description?

Who think that carly really tried to protect melanie & daniel from her husband?

Well he was very influential so chances are he never would have gone to jail..... Much like stephano. But this storyline wasn't going on back then, they just put it together recently to make her fit in to Salem.

What's your child's favorite books these days?

I know my son changes his favorites every week or two. My almost 5!!! year old is into the Melanie Watt books. The Chester books and the Scaredy Squirrel books.

How should I talk to this girl?

I would not suggest pushing it. I would suggest making small talk and not mention anything about the past pretend as nothing happen and start over with clean slate. Pretend as your just starting to get to know her again. It will take time and most likely she won't respond to you right now. Wait a little bit ans just be casual and work your way into gaining a stronger bond. I would keep the conversations up to "what have you been up too?" And such. Then I would try to start a bond by mentioning something like an inside joke or "ask if she still listens to this band?", "are you still doing.......?" Then you can establish a connection talk about things that only you and her kno just between eachother and exclude anything to do with the bad part of the past. Remind her of the good times. Don't look like your trying to push your romantic feelings to her just be a friend and try to gain her trust.
